Hikers spot bear near Lizard’s Mouth

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - A local hiker and his family came across a bear as they drove home from a popular hiking spot in Santa Barbara County.

Darren Shafae was with his sons when they saw the bear Friday night as they were coming back from a hike at Lizard's Mouth on West Camino Cielo.

Shafae captured the video around 7:30 p.m. as they were driving toward Highway 154. Shafae sent us the video through the 'Share' function on our website.

Video shows the bear scampering across the left side of the roadway and then scaling a fence before disappearing near a building.
