Holiday Turkey Drive 2019

Community members are set to come together and help people in need during the holiday season at the upcoming KCOY Turkey Drive.

The annual event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21 and will be held at five Central Coast locations.

All donations collected will benefit Good Samaritan Shelter in Northern Santa Barbara County and the Food Bank Coalition in San Luis Obispo County.

The popular event annually draws people, businesses, organizations, service clubs, churches, non-profit organizations, schools and other groups.

Those who participate generously donate turkeys, non-perishable food and money to the cause.

Donors enjoy drive-through service at drop off locations. Volunteers are happy to assist with unloading of turkeys and food items.

Donations stay within the county where they were collected.

Drop off locations are the KCOY studio in Santa Maria, Grocery Outlet in Lompoc, California Fresh Market in Pismo Beach, Food Bank headquarters in San Luis Obispo as well as Vons in Atasdcadero and San Luis Obispo.

KCOY 12 Central Coast News will have live coverage during our morning news from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. in Santa Maria and also during the evening news at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m in Santa Maria and Pismo Beach.

In addition, Dimes Media radio stations (WILD 106, 95.3 The Beach, B98.5, Alt 93.7 and KPIG) will broadcast live at the San Luis Obispo County locations, while Emerald Wave Media (Mega 97.1) will provide radio coverage in Santa Maria.
