Tracking changes ahead, including rain and gusty winds

Following a warm and pleasant weekend, this work week began with a pattern shift. Temperatures were significantly cooler on Monday and more clouds moved into the area as onshore flow strengthened. Monday served as a transitional day before a series of storms arrives by the middle of the week and lingers into a portion of the weekend.

The first moderate Pacific storm will bring unsettled weather to the region, along with rain chances as early as Tuesday night. There will be strong winds as well that may cause a Wind Advisory to be issued within the next several days. Forecasted Southerly winds will be strong, with gusts between 30-50 mph. Take extra precaution on the roads because pockets of dense fog, strong winds, and rain are on deck for a majority of this work week.

As of Monday afternoon, on and off rain is expected from Wednesday until Saturday. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected, especially on Wednesday and Thursday. Projected rainfall totals are between 1-3 inches over the span of four days, with a non-zero chance of totals reaching about 5 inches. Rain will linger into Saturday, but the region will be drying out and clearing out by Sunday.
