A dreary start to Thursday with better afternoon clearing

Temperatures are staying 5 to 15 degrees below normal midweek. Lows Thursday will be in the 40s inland and in the 50s on the coast. Highs will be mostly in the 60s on the coast with a smattering of low 70s inland.

A sizable trough will pass over us on Thursday. Expect another cloudy and drizzly morning. Some offshore trends will follow the trough and we will see better clearing of our skies in the afternoon.

Friday will be very similar with a cloudy start and even brighter afternoon. Sundowner winds will pop up on the Southwest Coast, and low-end wind advisories might be triggered.

Saturday is looking mild and benign. A large trough will come over the state, but there will still be clearing midday. Temperatures will sit about 4 to 8 degrees below normal.

Conditions on Sunday are a little less certain as models split regarding wind activity, and a Santa Ana wind event is possible. Likely, skies will clear out nicely with the winds.

Monday and Tuesday will be slightly warmer with ridging, offshore flow, and sunshine. Temperatures may even be near normal.
