Youngerman and Watkins combine to pitch a no-hitter for the Santa Barbara Foresters

The Santa Barbara Foresters pitch a combined no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Arroyo Seco.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Sean Youngerman started strong and Hunter Watkins slammed the door shut as the two pitchers combine for a no-hitter as the Santa Barbara Foresters blanked the Arroyo Seco Saints 4-0.

The Westmont College righty Youngerman pitched six innings, striking out four and walking 3.

The 6'8 Watkins who is headed to Grand Canyon University struck out 5 more batters in 3 perfect innings.

It was the Foresters first no-hitter since 2020 at the NBC World Series and 5th all-time.

The Foresters offense consisted of two 2-run home runs.

Jalin Flores from the University of Texas went deep in the third and Westmont College infielder Daniel Patterson added a home run in the eighth.

Flores also made one of three sparkling defensive plays in the game to keep the Foresters no-hitter intact.

Santa Barbara leads the California Collegiate League with a 19-8 conference record and they are 23-8 overall.

The Foresters host OC Riptide on Friday at 6pm at Pershing Park.
