Suspect arrested in connection to Orcutt shooting
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a suspect connected to a shooting in Orcutt on Friday.
Tony James Magnant, 36, of Orcutt was arrested early Saturday morning in connection to the shooting of a 35-year-old Orcutt woman.
Magnant was arrested just after midnight. He was previously identified as a person of interest and was detained at gun point.
Magnant is the victim’s spouse and father to the couple’s children who were at home at the time of the shooting.
The incident is under investigation but is considered a case of domestic violence.
Child Welfare Services responded to assist the children.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
Magnant was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Magnant could face charges for attempted murder, spousal abuse and child endangerment.
