Old Town Market in Orcutt to shut down in two weeks
ORCUTT, Calif. - Randy Ledbetter has been going to Old Town Market since he was a kid.
"Actually I worked in that store when I was 13 and 14 years old. That market is very special to me," said Ledbetter.
The market has served thousands of customers since the 1940s.
It’s considered a gem in Orcutt.
"I’m sad that it’s closing because it’s considered an Orcutt community icon so a lot of our kids and all of us shop there and go get you know convenience items so it’s kind of sad to see it go," said customer Kerry Farao.
The current owners have been serving the community at the market for 16 years.
They describe it as a “diamond in the rough.”
"This is the center of town and it opened in 1948 so hundreds if not thousands of people have worked here and there are a lot of memories here," said owner Mark Steller of Old Town Market.
