Allan Hancock football uses strong second half to win Western State Bowl
ORCUTT, Calif. - After a lackluster start, Allan Hancock football finished the second half strong in its biggest game of the year.
The Bulldogs used two third quarter touchdowns en route to 14-9 win over Mount San Jacinto in the Western State Bowl played at Righetti High School on Saturday night.
The Eagles (8-3) led 3-0 at halftime before the momentum shifted.
In the third quarter, quarterback Matt Garcia found a wide-open Jerome Afe for a 31 yard touchdown pass, before Desmond Newkirk found the end zone on the ground.
The Bulldogs (9-2) were making their third straight bowl game appearance. The victory was Hancock's second straight bowl win.
