MOORPARK, Calif. - A subject was arrested on Thursday as a result of a two-week investigation by the Moorpark Police Department's Special Enforcement Detail and the Ventura County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit.

Earlier in November, Moorpark Police arrested a man for selling methamphetamine in Ventura County.

Police said during the arrest, they found information in the suspect's vehicle that identified other people potentially involved in narcotics trafficking.

Using the provided information, detectives identified Jesus Estrada, 36, from Reseda as a potential narcotics trafficker who had been selling heroin to residents of Ventura County.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Estrada's home at 19000 Block of Lanark Street in Reseda and stopped him as he left his home on Thursday.

Detectives said they found Estrada had an ounce of heroin and $7,000 on him.

He was then arrested for possession of heroin for the purpose of sales.

Estrada was being held in East County Jail, but has been released on bail and is pending court proceedings.
