Well-loved Santa Barbara cheese shop reopens under new name

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A well-loved cheese shop is back open on Santa Barbara Street after closing its doors earlier this year due to the pandemic.

Local favorite C'est Cheese closed its doors for good in July after 16 years of business, but its owners said they received a lot of community support after they shut down.

That support has enabled them to reopen, under a new branding, at the same location as their previous shop.

The business is now called Cheese Shop Santa Barbara.

“The number of emails and handwritten letters that we got from our closing and now our reopening has been absolutely overwhelming. People are really excited. When we sent the email out saying we were going to reopen we got so many emails from people who said that they were literally crying with joy at the time and it’s the best news that they’ve heard in 2020 so far,” said Michael Graham, co-owner of Cheese Shop Santa Barbara.

The store is currently taking orders online and over the phone for pickup.

They are offering a wide variety of cheeses and artisan meats along with other gourmet foods and tools.

The shop said it hopes to open its doors to the public when Santa Barbara County's COVID-19 restrictions loosen in the future.

You can check out what they have to offer or place an order at their website www.cheeseshopsb.com.
