SANTA MARIA VALLEY, Calif. (KEYT) – Hats for Hope hosted a fundraiser at Presqu'ile Winery in the Santa Maria area on Sunday.

“The money we raise goes to provide them with wigs when they’re going to lose their hair due to treatment and gives them cash grants when they’re struggling financially as they go through their cancer battle," said Diane Martino with Hats for Hope.

The event featured live music by The Killer Dueling Pianos who took song request with all tips benefitting local cancer patients through Hats for Hope.

"We have one gentleman who literally took his cash grant to pay his electric bill to keep his lights on," said Martino.

All funds raised stay on the Central Coast.

"It’s just a struggle. Cancer is expensive," said Martino.

About 300 tickets were sold for the event.
