Fire crews on scene for structure fire in Montecito

MONTECITO, Calif. (KEYT) – Fire crews are on scene for a second-alarm structure fire at 588 Picacho Lane in Montecito, according to PulsePoint.

Your News Channel witnessed multiple fire trucks going through a gate onto the private property as part of the emergency response.

Two battalion chief trucks, more medic engine vehicles and several other emergency cars are on scene for the fire that broke out just before 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to Your News Channel.

The Montecito Fire Protection District told Your News Channel that one person was in the home during the fire but escaped without any injuries.

The MFPD is asking the public to avoid the 500 block of Picacho lane for the next several hours to clear hot spots after smoke from the chimney spread to the second floor of the property.

The Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District helped the MFPD in the fire response.

The property at 588 Pichacho Lane had previous ownership from both comedian Dennis Miller and T.V. personality Ellen Degeneres, according to Siteline.
