Charting Courses, Breaking Bread, and Getting Hired: Career Exploration Day at Allan Hancock College

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) - Allan Hancock College is hosting its annual Career Exploration Day today, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its Santa Maria campus.

The college has invited 1,300 local high school students to attend.

The event features 138 exhibitors representing a variety of industries and college career programs.

Participating students can meet with business representatives, college faculty, staff and current students, with food and entertainment provided during the event.

This year, the college is also encouraging current Allan Hancock College students to participate.

Among the participating exhibitors, 44 businesses are actively seeking to fill entry-level positions, giving college students the chance to submit resumes and potentially interview on-site.

Companies accepting resumes during the event include Lompoc Unified School District, Bonipak/Betteravia Farms, Honda of Santa Maria and Central Coast Incubator.

The event takes place at the college's Santa Maria campus, located at 800 S. College Dr.
