Santa Barbara Recruiting Volunteers to Help Prepare Local Parks for El Niño

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) - The City of Santa Barbara is looking for volunteers to help get local parks ready for El Niño.

Crews are working to clear debris and reduce the risk of storm-related damage.

Volunteers will assist the Parks & Recreation department with cleanup and other preparation work across city parks.

The effort comes as forecasters watch for periods of heavier rain this season.

City officials hope the extra help will keep parks safer and better protected during storms.
