VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) Crews are working day and night to replace a section of a sewer pipe in Ventura.

An underground leak from a Sinclair gas station led to evacuations in the Pierpont neighborhood 2 years ago.

A gas plume leaked into the ground and local sewer lines.

The replacement project is happening on Monmouth Way between Pierpont and Harbor Boulevards near the S101 freeway exit.

The multi-million dollars project should be complete in October.
