Two Arrested After Road Rage Incident On Las Posas Road In Camarillo Saturday

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – On Saturday, two teens were arrested in connection with a road rage incident at Las Posas Road that involved intentionally ramming a motorcyclist and brandishing rifles.

On Sep. 5, deputies were dispatched to a reported road rage incident between a black Mercedes sedan and a motorcycle on Las Posas Road at the northbound Highway 101 offramp stated a press release Tuesday from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

Witnesses shared with dispatchers that a driver had intentionally collided with a motorcyclist and that both the driver and a passenger had pointed a rifle at the motorcyclist during the incident noted the local law enforcement agency.

The motorcyclist was uninjured and released by medical responders and the sedan had fled the scene after the collision detailed the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators used automated license plate reader cameras in Camarillo to identify the involved vehicle and guided deputies to the drive-thru of the Jack in the Box on East Daily Drive explained the sheriff's office.

According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on the Mercedes and took both people inside, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old female from Camarillo, into custody without incident.

A search of the sedan resulted in the discovery of two assault rifles and a pistol all without serial numbers added the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

The local sheriff's office shared that both occupants were arrested for the following violations:

• PC 32625–Possession of an Automatic Weapon
• PC 30605–Possession of an Assault Weapon
• PC 27545–Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm
• PC 25850(C)(6)–Carrying a Loaded, Unregistered Firearm in Public
• PC 29180–Possession of a Firearm with No Serial Number
• PC 245(a)(4)–Assault with a Deadly Weapon
• PC 417(2)(B)–Brandishing a Firearm
• PC 182(a)(1)–Conspiracy to Commit a Crime

The 18-year-old driver was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and the 17-year-old passenger was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center shared the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
