Fishing Vessel Rescued in Estero Bay and Safely Towed Back to Morro Bay Marina

MORRO BAY, Calif. (KEYT) – A sinking fishing vessel in Estero Bay was rescued and towed to Morro Bar Marina Thursday.

According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, their Office of Spill Prevention and Response team was dispatched to the Bounty, a fishing vessel taking on water in Estero Bay.

The U.S. Coast Guard was able to refloat the fishing vessel and tow it back to safety at the Morro Bay Marina noted the state agency.

No injuries were shared from the response and no oiled wildlife have been observed since the rescue, but a boom has been deployed and the Bounty is required to remain in place pending an investigation of the incident noted the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
