Ann Quach Sentenced to Over Two Years for Filing More Than 1,700 Falsified Tax Returns

LOS ANGELES (KEYT) – Ann Quach, 50, of Thousand Oaks was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for filing over 1,700 false tax returns on behalf of clients.

Quach pled guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of false tax returns on behalf of clients at her business AQ Financial, also known as A2Z Tax Solutions, and one count of wire fraud on February 18 noted the First Assistant's Office for the Central District of California.

U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett also ordered Quach to pay $6,481,731 in restitution during Quach's sentencing hearing Friday added federal prosecutors.

From 2011 to 2024, Quach prepared at least 1,734 inaccurate Form 1040 returns which included fabricated losses for fake businesses to offset her client's income claims and frequently included false deductions for medical expenses and charitable contributions explained the the federal prosecutor's office.

Those false and fabricated claims reduced the taxes clients owed, even generating funds for her clients in tax refunds, and Quach collected "substantial fees from her satisfied clients" shared the First Assistant's Office.

"Tax fraud is a serious crime that corrodes the foundation of a functional society," prosecutors argued in their sentencing memorandum. "[Quach's] tax fraud was serious. It was not committed because of a brief lapse in judgment. For years, [Quach] used her tax expertise to help clients evade tax on their income, causing significant losses to the U.S. Treasury."
