Fire teams responded to small vegetation fire off of Black Road north of Vandenberg SFB

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Fire crews responded to a small vegetation fire near the intersection of Highway 1 and Black Road north of Vandenberg Space Force Base Wednesday.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, their crews were called to the scene off of Black Road, north of Casmalia and west of Orcutt at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday and were able to halt forward progress of the flames around 4:17 p.m.

Flames scorched an estimated four to five acres of light to moderate fuels in the area as slight breezes and rolling hills complicated the response shared the local fire response agency.
