Warming trend Tuesday, mostly sunny

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - High pressure over Arizona will expand west into California on Tuesday, sparking a warmup here at home.

Madre Fire area winds sustain between 10 and 20 miles from the northwest through Tuesday.

Weaking onshore winds overall will decrease the coastal marine layer further by Wednesday.

Inland areas will be extra warm, 90s to 100 by midweek as the heat spell peaks through Thursday.

Areas north of Point Conception will warm a little slower than southern communities because of some lingering high pressure from north California.

Gusty & warm sundowners are returning to the southwest coast this week.

High pressure weakens into the weekend, with increasing onshore flow, though it will still be warm but back to near normal.

Another high pressure system could arrive next week causing even warmer weather but if onshore flow stays strong through then, it would stabilize coastal temperatures to seasonal norm.
