Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal Goleta stabbing
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Detectives are looking for multiple suspects following a fatal stabbing on San Simeon Drive near Turnpike Road.
According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, the 17-year-old who was transported from the scene, later died from his injuries at the hospital around 9:33 p.m. Wednesday evening.
His identity has not been publicly revealed.
Deputies were called to the area near the parking lot between Vons and Play It Again Sports Wednesday around 8:48 p.m. for a report of a person down in the roadway shared the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office in a press release Thursday.
First responders found a male teen who had been stabbed and learned that several males had fled the area before their arrival shared the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
What appeared to be rival graffiti covered an apartment carport wall, the shopping center sidewalk, and driveway behind the stores Your News Channel learned.
People in the Vons parking lot couldn't cross crime scene tape to get home. Some didn't know what had happened.
People watching the officers search for suspects think tagging may have led to the stabbing.
There have been no arrests in connection with this fatal incident, but the case is remains open noted the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
