Fire crews responded to 0.3-acre vegetation fire off Highway 41 southwest of Atascadero Tuesday

ATASCADERO, Calif. – Firefighters responded to a 0.3-acre vegetation fire at 10400 Highway 41, southwest of Atascadero Tuesday afternoon.

At 4:35 p.m. forward progress of the fire was stopped at 0.3 acres and the incident was turned over to the Atascadero Fire Department shared the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department.

According to the Atascadero Fire Department in a press release on Wednesday, damage from the fire was limited to private property fence posts and no injuries were reported as part of the response.

The response to this fire was impacted by an earlier residential fire and homeowners and bystanders helped to suppress the fire using garden hoses before the arrival of more firefighters explained the Atascadero Fire Department.

While the origin of the fire has been narrowed down to the roadside, the exact cause remains under investigation shared the Atascadero Fire Department.
