Warm Thursday, tracking October heat wave

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Thursday will be warm with the chance for morning clouds.

Onshore winds will be very weak Thursday offering minimal relief along the coast with temperatures still likely to reach the upper 70s and low 80s.

The entire region will begin warming Friday with an extreme heat watch going into effect.

Offshore winds kick on over the weekend bringing clear skies and rising temps into the upper 80s.

High 80s will continue through next week with the start of October in a long duration heat spell.

Hurricane Rachel may send some humidity toward California early next week despite its westward track.
