Feeling tropical for Sunday, Sept 27th forecast

A beautiful start to our last weekend of September with mostly mild to warm conditions across the entire region. Look for patchy fog to develop along the coast and spread inland overnight. The fog should dissipate fairly early as mid and upper level clouds from Hurricane Odalys stream in overhead. Lows will drop in to the 60's and 50's. Highs on Sunday will be a mix of 60's and 70's to the north of Point Conception with more 70's and 80's to the south. 

Looking ahead, the strong onshore flow will hold through the weekend with even further cooling expected by Sunday. We could also see the effects of Hurricanes Odalys and Polo in the ocean and in our atmosphere. Surf will likely build by late Saturday and then stay elevated through the start of the work week at ;east. The swell will be very strong and from a steep southerly angle. If the Polo stays on its present expected course, we should expect waves to stay below 8 feet for our south facing beaches. However, if the storm meanders a bit farther west and then push more north, surf could be much bigger. A High Surf Advisory is in effect through Tuesday for most of Southern California including Ventura County.  We will need to monitor closely for beach impacts as well as maybe some sprinkles as tropical clouds fill in Sunday and Monday. Beyond the tropical threats, things are expected to turn from cool to very warm as high pressure builds by mid week. Temperatures will likely jump well above normal mid week and stay there through late in the work week.
