Tracking tropical weather and thunderstorms Friday

KEYT

Happy Friday! We begin the morning with mostly cloudy skies for many areas and a few light showers. All areas hold with a 20% chance of rain through the evening. The heat holds for one more day. Highs rise into the 80s, 90s and triple digits. Humidity will make our weather feel similar to Florida! Heat Alerts hold through 8pm while Red Flag Warnings continue through 3pm. Dry lightning is a concern for fire spark ups and rapid fire growth. Overnight lows begin a small cooling trend.

We cool further Saturday and Sunday. Expect 80s at the beaches and lingering heat inland. Skies turn mostly sunny other than some morning marine clouds in northern areas. Winds may be breezy at times and marine waters look calm.

We cool further into the first few days of the new month. More tropical rain chances arise by Tuesday. Model data shows a 20% chance Tuesday through Thursday. More information to come.
