Tracking Thunderstorm chances Tuesday

KEYT

We begin the morning with marine clouds along with mid to high level monsoon clouds as well. There is a decent amount of instability in the atmosphere due to some storms around the Baja. This will bring thunderstorm chances during the late afternoon. Interior mountainous areas will likely be impacted but cannot rule out a stray pop up shower or two crossing over the beaches. Dry lightning is a concern with these storms but some will produce a decent amount of rain. All impacts are minimal but when thunder roars go indoors. Winds will be breezy by the evening.

Thunderstorm chances peak Wednesday. Another round of erratic cells may develop over mountainous terrain. Skies this day will remain overcast due to marine clouds and storm clouds. Temperatures drop dramatically. Winds crank up and some wind advisories may be issued.

One of the coolest day of the week is Thursday. Expect overcast skies, strong winds and highs into the 60s and 70s for most. We hold below average through the weekend. More info to come.
