A chilly morning followed by a mild afternoon Tuesday

Low temperatures in the morning will be very chilly. There is a frost advisory in place until 8:00 am for the Central Coast, Santa Ynez Valley, and Ojai Valley. Temperatures could be as low as 30 degrees.

Highs will increase a tad for some areas Tuesday, but there will be little temperature change on the South Coast. Overall, highs will be in the 60s with a smattering of 70s in Ventura County.

A high surf advisory has been extended until 10:00 pm Wednesday for the Central Coast with breaking waves at 10 to 15 feet. An advisory has been added to the Ventura coast from 6:00 am Tuesday to 6:00 pm Wednesday with breaking waves at 5 to 8 feet.

The upper low to the east will continue on its way in that direction, and a ridge will move into California. We have light offshore flow and clear skies in our region. Canyons will be on the breezy side.

On Wednesday, temperatures will warm a bit further. Santa Ana winds will develop from cold air advection, becoming more strong overnight into Thursday. Thursday will also likely be the warmest day of the week.

Temperatures will stay mild, but start to drop Friday with less wind and offshore flow. The ridge will break down over the weekend, and temperatures will take a leap down Saturday. Clouds will increase Sunday and it's possible we will see the return of our marine layer.
