Monday Evening Forecast June14th

A very beautiful and very warm day as we get ready for a heat wave fast approaching. Winds are still of concern and northerly Wind Advisory is in effect for portions of Santa Barbara County through early Tuesday. Heat advisories and warning are going in to effect along with red Flag Fire concerns. Look for very little if any marine layer or influence on Tuesday as high pressure creates a slight offshore flow. This means triple digit het is likely inland and even close to the coastal plain. The wildcard will be wether the sea breeze can kick in just enough to keep the beaches a little more reasonable. If we see a slight onshore breeze, highs along the coast will still be warm and most likely in the 70's and 80's. If there is no sea breeze, we could then see 90's and above right down to the sand!

Looking ahead, heat, wind and fire concerns will last at least through mid week. Fortunately winds should ease by early Wednesday for Santa Barbara County. The heat will start to break by Wednesday and Thursday for coastal areas as the sea breeze and then fog start to rebuild with a stronger onshore flow. Inland areas will hold on the heat through about Friday and then see much better conditions by the weekend which is Father's Day!  We could even see our warmest areas dropping back in to the 80's for afternoon highs!  Good news for sure!
