Friday morning forecast October 9th

Temperatures are fairly similar to Thursday. The coast will be in the 60s to 70s, and valleys in the upper 70s. Low clouds and fog continue to keep the region cool and mild.

Locally gusty winds will pick up in the Gaviota and Refugio area, reaching between 20 to 30 mph. An upper low will pass to the SW of us, but any rain will stay offshore. There is roughly a 10 percent chance drizzle will move over the region Friday night into Saturday morning.

Over the weekend, onshore flow will weaken, eventually changing to weak offshore flow. Temperatures will warm slightly Sunday, then heat very suddenly Monday with the introduction of Santa Ana winds.

Temperatures will be well above normal and conditions will be dry through next week. The warmest temperatures and windiest conditions will take place Monday and Tuesday. Risk of fire is elevated.
