Saturday Evening Forecast June 6th

(SHAWN)

We saw a definite change in the weather today as a stronger wind began to blow from the north. There are still some clouds/fog lingering and temperatures remain on the cool side. A Wind Advisory is in effect for portions of the Central Coast through tonight. The Advisory will last through early Sunday for portions of Santa Barbara County. All areas could see the advisory come back in to play through early Monday. Look for mostly clear skies on Sunday with maybe some light patchy am fog. Highs will likely stay in the 60's and 70's with a few lower 80's in the warmest locations. A big area of low pressure continues to move in and through the Pacific Northwest bring rain and even higher elevation snow. As is typical this time of year, we are too far south to see much more than maybe a few sprinkles. We did see and even record some measurable rain on Friday, but our biggest impact will be wind and then a warming turned. These late season systems make for a strong northerly flow and wind from the north and even northeast will be an issue through at least Monday. As the winds turn more northeasterly, we will then see the offshore flow take over and with that, warmer temps. Look for the warmth to kick in to gear by Tuesday with the mid week getting very warm. There is still some model discrepancies as to how warm and if the heat will reach the immediate coast. Either way, especially for inland areas, expect lots of sunshine and very warm afternoon highs. The heat should simmer down by late in the work week and even more so by next weekend as the marine layer rebuilds along the coast.
