Saturday evening forecast Feb 8th

Plenty of sunshine and cool to mild temperatures across the region today. We are monitoring yet another tricky forecast as a storm system takes shape to our north. The storm is not easy to track as it is cut off from the main Jet Stream which usually drives theses systems from the ocean & in to North America. We will see more clouds on Sunday and in to early Monday with just some slight chances for sprinkles especially the farther south you go. It will be cooler and some wind is expected from the north, but there are no advisories or warnings at this time. However, there is a Winter Storm Watch for the mountains of Ventura County above 4000-ft on Sunday. Accumulations should be minimal, but strong wind and ice could create some roadway issues, the I-5 being a concern as always!
Looking ahead, if any showers or snow lingers in to Monday, clearing is expected quickly by the afternoon. We then go back to a really mild run through Valentine's Day or Friday with plenty of sunshine and 60's/70's for temperatures. Another storm system may affect us by next weekend, but our forecast models are still not consistent in timing or exact trajectory yet. We will monitor closely with fingers crossed that we get Mother Nature to start bringing us some more rain!
