Sunday evening forecast March 1.

March is roaring in like a lion with cold temperatures, wind and some much needed rain. Unfortunately, the nature of this system is a little on the dry side and rain totals have been for the most part very light. We will still the chance for sprinkles and even thunder through the night and in to very early Monday. Again, we don't expect much more than trace amounts, but we'll take it! Winds will continue to be gusty with a Wind Advisory in effect for portions of Sant Barbara through the evening. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for portions of Ventura County above about 3000-feet. Up to a half a foot of snow is possible with icy roads and strong winds. A High Surf Advisory will also remain in play for west and northwest facing beaches in Ventura County and along the Central Coast.
Looking ahead, expect quick clearing as we head in to the new work week with more wind on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday look great with warming temperatures, light offshore winds and mostly sunny skies. More clouds are expected by the middle & end of the work week which will lead to a chance for showers by next weekend. Timing is still in question, but Saturday and maybe in to early Sunday looks good for at least a little more rain. In fact, our long range forecast models see possibly two more systems the following week.  Let's hope so!
