Monday morning forecast September 28

A heat wave will begin on Monday and persists through at least Thursday. Dangerously hot and dry conditions could be expected, with triple digit heat possible along the valleys and 90s along the coastal areas. A cool down will begin from Friday and through the weekend, as the ridge of high pressure begins to weaken.

Monday morning started off with dense fog along the Central Coast with some patchy low level clouds along the South Coast. This brought a mild and comfortable morning, with activity gradually clearing to sunshine. As temperatures begin to warm, daytime highs along the Central and South Coast will reach the 70s to 80s. Interior valleys and mountains upper 80s to 90s.

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are possible for Ventura County. Due to strong Santa Ana winds possibly impacting Ventura County on Monday and Tuesday. A Red Flag Warning will remain in effect along the Ventura County mountains until Monday at 5 PM. North to northeast winds will range from 15 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. This will also impact humidity as conditions could drop to single digit.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect along Ventura County from Tuesday morning until Thursday evening. Peak heat will likely be on Wednesday as temperatures soar well above average. By Friday some low level clouds could form once again allowing for temperatures to cool down.
