Wednesday morning forecast September 23rd

An upper ridge will bring a modest warming trend through Thursday. This will allow for less morning cloud cover and more sunshine. As a trough sweeps through on Friday temperatures will cool back down but not for long. A ridge will warm the west coast right back up over the weekend with temperatures staying above average. Looking ahead, a more significant warming trend arrives on Sunday and through Tuesday.

Dense fog greeted the South Coast prompting a Dense Fog Advisory through Wednesday at 9 AM. While the Central Coast woke up to some low hanging clouds. Following offshore trends activity will clear quickly to afternoon sunshine. Daytime highs along the coast in the 60s to upper 70s. Inland in the 80s to upper 90s.

Looking ahead, the trough over the Pacific Northwest is expected to sweep into Friday. This will bring a nice relief as temperatures cool down. However, an elongated ridge of high pressure will strengthen across the west coast. Prompting a heat wave from Sunday and through Tuesday. Peak heat likely Monday and Tuesday with potential for triple digit heat.
