Friday morning forecast June 12th

An onshore flow will strengthen from north to east prompting more coastal clouds and areas of fog along the Central and South Coast. A strong trof will approach the state Friday evening and produce a strong wind event with the chance for advisory level winds. Warmer temperatures expected from Sunday into Monday with more sunshine and above average temperatures.

The marine layer will cool temperatures an additional 8 to 12 degrees on Friday. Daytime highs along the coast in the mid 60s, 70s while interior valleys will reach the 70s to low 80s. Advisory level wind gusts will be likely across the western portion of the Santa Barbara South Coast including the passes and canyons.

As temperatures continue to cool, Saturday is expected to be the coolest day out of the week. Coastal areas will cool 1 to 3 degrees with inland valleys looking at a 4 to 8 degree difference. Sunday is expected to be warmer with a weak marine layer and more afternoon sunshine. The onshore flow will strengthen for the later week with further cooling.
