Monday evening forecast May 18

Some light showers greeted the Central and South Coasts on Monday with areas accumulating between 0.10 to 0.25". The weak system will continue to shift south with most of the region expected to become relatively dry with partly cloudy skies. As the disturbance exits a warming trend will initiate from Tuesday through Friday. Winds will also pick up prompting breezy conditions near the coasts and strong gusts along Southern Santa Barbara County.

Due to an upper level trough some isolated showers could still be possible for Tuesday afternoon especially over the mountains. Overall still looking at a dryer region with a tad more sunshine for the coasts and valleys. Areas south of Point Conception will have some afternoon westerly breezes with gusts ranging from 20-30 mph. Daytime highs along the coasts and valleys will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.

As temperatures warm-up the heat will peak on Thursday with a slight offshore flow. This will allow for complete sunshine along with above average conditions. Some inland areas likely to reach the 80s. A trough will move in Friday and Saturday with conditions favoring an onshore flow. This will bring cooler temperatures and more cloud cover for the weekend.
