Friday evening forecast April 17

A deep marine layer prompted cloudy skies and areas of drizzle for Friday morning. Thunderstorms were also reported in eastern San Luis Obispo County. This comes from an upper level low which will continue to bring some light scattered showers, a chance of thunderstorms along with seasonably cool temperatures. The rain totals will continue to be light with up to 0.10" possible. Higher amounts around thunderstorms with up to 0.25-0.75". As temperatures cooled down daytime highs along the coasts and valleys reached the low to mid 60s.

Lingering showers will follow for Saturday morning with areas along the south still squeezing out some moisture. Activity will gradually clear with a cloud break possible. The cooling trend will continue with the majority of our region remaining below average. Daytime highs along the coast and valleys will drop in the low to mid 60s.

Very little change is anticipated for Sunday with the coasts and valleys likely to remain dry and overall cloudy. Another system will arrive for Monday bringing a chance of rain showers otherwise looking at gradual clearing for the afternoon.

As a ridge of high pressure develops a warming trend will begin for Tuesday with temperatures rising well above average.
