Santa Barbara pro surfer Lakey Peterson gets back in the win column at Corona Open J-Bay

JEFFREYS BAY, South Africa.- The drought is over for Lakey.

Santa Barbara pro surfer Lakey Peterson defeated Molly Picklum in the finals to win the Corona Open J-Bay event.

It is Peterson's first WSL Championship Tour victory since 2019 and fifth of her career.

Lakey sealed the victory with an 8.5 in the final heat.

Peterson had been runner-up twice at J-Bay in the past but the third time was the charm for the 28-year old.

Filipe Toledo won on the men's side.
