SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - After leading 30-23 at halftime San Marcos managed just 18 second half points as they lost their season opener 56-48 to Royal of Simi Valley.

Micah Jacobi and Joe Pasternack each scored 17 points for the Royals who host Newbury Park on Friday.
