Two more basketball players from Hancock will play at 4-year universities

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Two more Hancock College Bulldogs men's basketball players will hoop at four-year schools.

Grant Johnson committed to Holy Names University and Mike Mensah signed with the University of Maryland Eastern Shore where he will play with Hancock teammate Mayowa Akinsanya who also signed.

Johnson earned an All-Conference honorable mention as well as started the most games and played the most minutes on average for the Bulldogs this season. He averaged 8.4 PPG, 2 RPG, and 2.3 assists per game as well as shot a team best 88.5 percent from the charity stripe.

Mensah averaged 10.3 PPG, 2.8 RPG, and shot 78 percent from the free throw line. As a freshman, Mensah led all players in California in 3PT shooting percentage.

Will Silmon had offers to play out of state but he will be attending CSU Fullerton only for academics.

The three players played big roles in the Bulldog’s Sweet 16 performance this year.
