KEYT News

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 27-year-old Ventura man was transported with major injuries after a single-vehicle crash off Olivas Park Drive Monday.

On Sep. 14, around 11:49 p.m., dispatchers received calls about a single-vehicle collision on Olivas Park Drive, east of Palma Drive and south of Ventura city limits, stated a press Tuesday from the California Highway Patrol-Ventura Area (CHP).

Arriving officers found a tan Infinity G20 on its side about 50 feet off of the roadway and a man, later identified as a 27-year-old Ventura resident, laying on the ground with major injuries near the vehicle detailed the CHP.

According to the CHP, further investigation showed that the 27-year-old was driving eastbound on Olivas Park Drive when he made "an unsafe turning motion to the right" and traveled off of the roadway before crashing into a fence.

The collision with the fence ejected the driver and he was transported from the scene to Ventura County Medical Center for further medical treatment noted the CHP.

A DUI investigation was conducted and the driver was eventually arrested on suspicion of driving under the combined influence of drugs and alcohol shared the law enforcement agency.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing and anyone with more information is asked to contact the CHP Ventura Office at 805-662-2640.
