A 70-year-old Driver Dies After Single-Vehicle Crash Near Main Street and Emma Avenue

VENTURA, Calif. (KEYT) – A 70-year-old driver has died after crashing into a concrete wall and a utility pole near the intersection of Main Street and Emma Avenue Friday morning.

The identity of the deceased is pending notification of his next of kin noted the Ventura Police Department.

On July 31, around 5:52 a.m., dispatchers received a call about a single-vehicle collision near Main Street and Emma Avenue stated a press release Friday from the Ventura Police Department.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a 70-year-old man seated in the driver's seat of a sedan with major injuries and he was transported to the hospital for further medical treatment detailed the local police department.

The driver later died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital shared the Ventura Police Department.

A preliminary investigation showed that the sedan was eastbound on Main Street when it veered off the roadway and hit a concrete wall and a utility pole explained the Ventura Police Department.
