Simi Valley Man Arrested for Prowling in Multiple Backyards Monday Evening

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 38-year-old Simi Valley man was taken into custody Monday evening for prowling, vandalism, and resisting arrest after entering multiple backyards.

On July 27, around 10:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of a prowler in the backyard of a home on Willowbrook Lane stated a press release from the Simi Valley Police Department.

Arriving officers were told the prowler had scaled a fence into another yard at a home on Pride Street and when officers commanded the man, later identified as a 38-year-old Simi Valley resident, to stop, he attempted to flee the scene detailed the Simi Valley Police Department.

According to Simi Valley Police, a K-9 unit was successfully deployed at the scene and the 38-year-old was taken into custody after a brief struggle.

An investigation resulted in the discovery that the man had entered at least three residential yards without permission and damaged property, including a fence and a spa explained the local law enforcement agency.

The Simi Valley Police Department shared that the man was booked on charged of prowling, vandalism, resisting arrest, and possession of methamphetamine.
