Dallas Cowboys Fan Night entertains crowd at The Collection in Oxnard
OXNARD, Calif.-The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders performed during Oxnard's Fan Night at The Collection.
One fan in the crowd came out to see her granddaughter Sophy Laufer cheer.
The former Simi Valley High School cheerleader made the squad last season.
"This is her second year and she was recruited, she was 18-years-old and she made the team, we are so proud of her, " said Nancy Laufer, " She has been dancing since she was 2-years-old and this is her dream come true."
Laufer's grandmother joked that she used to be a Bears fan, wow she said she is a Cowboy's fan, too.
Milan Rumps, 7, cheered in the front row with pom poms that matched her outfit.
"I am here for the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders," said Rumps.
Her father Richard Rumps said they came last year, too.
"We were at The Collection last summer, we saw cheerleaders up on the stage, they brought her up on stage and they gave her pom poms and she has been living it up ever since then," said Rumps.
The cheerleaders don't stay for the whole training camp, but they plan to host an academy for young cheerleaders at Pacific High on Sunday.
Mascot Rowdy threw souvenirs, including hats, to the crowd.
Fans also enjoyed hearing from 5-time Superbowl champion and mental health advocate Charles Haley.
"Just remember if you cheer loud enough it drowns out the other team," said Haley, before signing autographs.
Fans cheered him on and will be cheering for Cowboys all this season long.
