Accident involving Sheriff’s Deputy leads to rescue of man trapped inside overturned truck

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -A Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputy's patrol car collided with another vehicle that overturned on Highway 154 around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

It happened on the southbound side the 154 just south of the Cold Spring Bridge.

It appears the officer was headed to another call when the accident happened.

Firefighters helped rescue a man in the front seat of the overturned vehicle while an ambulance crew waited nearby.

Traffic was slowed in both directions.

Another deputy's vehicle was down the road near Painted Cave, but it is not clear if the incidents are related.
