Portion of East Anapamu temporarily closed following rollover crash near Santa Barbara High School

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The 600 block of East Anapamu Street was temporarily closed following a single-vehicle rollover crash Monday afternoon.

The crash was called in around 2:31 p.m.

Santa Barbara City Fire said a man was driving a Subaru Forester westbound on East Anapamu near Alta Vista Road when he collided his car into a vehicle parked on the side of the road.

Upon arriving, firefighters found the man trapped inside his vehicle which was lying on its side in the the roadway.

Crews said they were able to rescue him by removing a windshield and pulling him out of the hatchback of the vehicle.

The man was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with minor injuries.

City Fire and Police closed East Anapamu to all traffic between Alta Vista Road and Salsipuedes Street while they responded to the crash.

The block is expected to remain closed for another hour, or until about 4:30 p.m.

Tow trucks are on their way to the scene to remove the Subaru. Santa Barbara police are investigating the incident.
