Tracking rain & thunderstorms Wednesday

The first moderate rainstorm of the season is here! A Flood Watch has been issued for Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez mountains along with some beach areas through early Thursday. Expect 1-2 inches of rainfall, with the heaviest rain occurring during midday to evening hours. Most of the showers will be on and off rather than steady drops. While localized flooding is a possibility, especially on roadways, the impacts from this system will be minimal. Overnight showers are likely, roadways will be slick.

We hold with a 50-70% chance of showers Thursday, however models indicate a rather dry day. Some pop up thunderstorms will appear and move erratically. Make sure to be weather aware and keep and eye on your surroundings. Temperatures hold into the upper 60s, so bundle up! Winds will be breezy at times but no watches, warnings or advisories to worry about.

Dry weather begins Friday and into the weekend. Temperatures rise back to mid 70s and some mairne layer influence is expected. Minimal weather pattern shifts next week.
