Two people injured after truck crashes into light pole at West Main and Black Road in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif.- Two people were injured after crashing into a light pole at the intersection of West Main and Black Road late Wednesday night.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, a pickup with two passengers crashed into a light pole at 11:51 p.m. and first responders had to use the jaws of life to free the driver -only identified as a man- who had moderate to major injuries at the scene.

The passenger had minor injures and both people were transported via ambulance to Marian Medical Center shared the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The eastbound lanes of west Main Street was closed as part of the response and the exact cause of the incident is currently under investigation explained the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
