Minuteman missile launch from Vandenberg scheduled between October 31 and November 1

VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. – An operational test launch for an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile has been scheduled from Oct. 31 at 11:47 p.m. to Nov. 1 at 5:47 a.m. from northern portions of Vandenberg Space Force Base.

This routine test was scheduled years in advance and is used to verify the efficiency of existing systems and procedures as well as demonstrate the capability of the U.S. nuclear arsenal detail Airforce Global Strike Command.

The United States is required by the Hague Code of Conduct to transmit a pre-launch notification and also, the federal government notified the Russian government in advance about the test in accordance with existing bilateral obligations relay Airforce Global Strike Command.
