Local food bank reaches over 1,000 cars in Santa Maria holiday food distribution

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- The Santa Barbara County Food Bank hosted a special holiday food distribution at their Santa Maria and Santa Barbara locations today.

The Santa Maria location distributed food to over 1,000 cars that lined up since 5 a.m. in the 40-degree foggy morning.

Food Bank staff said the car line was over 6 miles long.

The food distribution continued until 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
